The Clifton Park Soccer Club is looking to expand its Adult League to include a Walking Soccer program. Intended for players who are 55 and older, it will offer an opportunity to participate in the game when your legs are no longer able to keep up with the pace and intensity of a regular match. It’s all the rage in England and we’re looking to establish this option for older players in our community!
Here is a link to a short video explaining the game in case you're not familiar with the concept: Non-Contact Walking Football
At this point we are soliciting feedback to determine interest. We need a small, but committed, group to start with. To get going, we are envisioning a spring program of 12-18 players (male or female) playing once a week from 4:00 - 5:30 during a weekday afternoon. We will use a “pick-up” style of play. The cost will be no more than $20. While the program will be primarily for residents of Clifton Park, we can accept a small number of non-resident players.
If you’re interested, please send a message to coordinator[at]cliftonparkadult.soccer. Let us know if you have restrictions about what day of the week works for you. If we get enough interest in the next month or so, we’ll put together a formal program and get the word out. Do feel free to let your friends know about this opportunity. Thank you.
